Palestinian Conscious Life: Nature- and Culture-Informed Practices towards Well-being

PalestinePalestinian Conscious Life: Nature- and Culture-Informed Practices towards Well-being

Second, Palestine has a richly accentuated philosophy of well-being that is also going back to nature and also back to the ways of old as the paradigms for creating better more holistic health and mindful way of life. Consistent with the history of the earth, consciousness values are rapidly adopting wholeness of body, mind, and earth, making people and societies who wish to go back to the ways of old in an attempt at bettering individual and community health.

Palestinian flourishing has rituals of belonging. The farm’s ritual cycle, such as the autumn olive harvest time, goes on as cultural and contemplative practice. They are not only being with the land but also with each other when relatives and neighbors arrive and share and work in tandem with one another toiling, recalling, and celebrating the harvest season.

Palestinian rural scenery—hills, olive trees, and ancient ruins—also provide a natural environment for the practice of well-being. Walking, i.e., walking meditation, and hiking are among the daily workouts which are currently being performed in regular and semi-rural environments such that individuals are able to meditate and exercise under nature. The practices promote mental focus, emotional stability, and heightened sensibility to environments.

Diet and food constitute the core of Palestinian health practice and are founded on locally available, organically grown food and seasonable foods. The diet is traditionally cereal-oriented, fresh green leafy veggies, pulses, and vegetables easily found from home gardens and the neighbourhood produce. Preparation of food is in most instances a shared activity between households that enhances inter-household relationships and sensitizes the household by the active food preparation and sharing process. Reflective eating depending on taste, texture, and community living is the inevitable consequence of this process.

Locally produced aromatherapy is also part of daily life on a daily basis in the quest for health. The essential oils of the locally encountered herbs like za’atar, thyme, sage, and rose are applied by the majority of Palestinian homes. Either the oils are inhaled following dispersion or rubbed as in homes in an attempt to feel relaxed, resist stress, and accrue emotional equilibrium.

Palestinian health culture is native to herbal medicine. The majority of the population hold to be the source of medicine what they have learned from tradition, i.e., chamomile, mint, sage, and other herb teas and infusions of medicinal plants. The drug will be prone to be fit to apply in healing embedded sickness, having drug-free substitutes for drugs as well as continuing long-standing preference for nature.

They collectively constitute a locally situated and integrative paradigm of conscious existence. Locally situated practice, nature-placed location, habituated forms of consuming food, and plant medicine health practices are interwoven and constitute a component of sweeping cultural movement towards sustainable, integrative health in Palestinian culture. They, in being adopted, enable individual well-being as well as cultural wholeness of self and ecologization.
