Increased environmental activity nationwide has been witnessed throughout Lebanon in an attempt to tackle issues of the environment in the country and sustainable development. Motivated by the symbolic national purity representative trees of the nation, nationwide activities have been organized in an effort to install environmental awareness and sustainable green practices in the majority of areas of life. Of the most famous are reforestation efforts undertaken in the re-growth of indigenous forest cover and soil conservation by anti-erosion practices.
